  • Appointment of the new Director of the White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities (WRoCAH)

    Professor Dawn Hadley (Professor of Medieval Archaeology and member of the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of York) has been appointed as the next Director of WRoCAH and will take up the post from August 2019, taking over from Professor Julian Richards who has led the College since its inception in 2014.

  • STOP PRESS: AHRC awards further 5-year funding for WRoCAH

    We are pleased to announce that WRoCAH has been awarded renewed funding by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to support 240 PhD students over five years, with the first cohort starting in October 2019.

  • Refuse/Refuge Exhibition and Festival of Ideas Film Screening, by Kyveli Lignou-Tsamantani

    Kyveli Lignou-Tsamantani and Martha Cattell co-curated ‘Refuse/Refuge’ (York Art Gallery, July-September 2018), an exhibition featuring works by international artists and addressing issues of representation in relation to the contemporary refugee and migrant crisis, with support from WRoCAH. Here Kyveli explains more about the origins of the project.
