Dawn is Professor of Medieval Archaeology at the University of York and a member of the Centre for Medieval Studies. She joined York in 2018 after working for over 20 years in the Archaeology Department at the University of Sheffield, where she was latterly Head of Department and Acting Vice President of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. Dawn was Faculty Director of Post-Graduate Studies in Sheffield from 2009-13, and a member of the bid writing team that secured the initial funding for WRoCAH, and she was the first chair of the WRoCAH subject cluster in Heritage & Material Culture. Earlier in her career, Dawn was a temporary Lecturer in Medieval History at the University of Leeds. Having worked for all three of the White Rose Universities, and with long-standing specialisation in post-graduate training, she is delighted to have taken on the role of Director of WRoCAH and looks forward to working with students and supervisors in the coming years.
