Oral Histories Workshop (run by the Oral History Society)

This is a three-day taught workshop teaching best practice for taking Oral histories and testimony, with a fourth day to take place after a year of applied research activities to review experience, shared best practice and look at archival and analytical skills, on a date to be agreed.

Day 1: Collection

• History of oral history
• Project Design
• Interview Design
• Interviewing techniques
• Practice Interview
• Recording Equipment
• Ethics including ethics committees

Day 2: Students conduct interviews

Day 3: Interview feedback and discussion in two groups

Day 4 (after 12 months): Archiving and Analysis
