SUMMARY:Finding and Using Media Resources in your Research
DESCRIPTION:Learning on Screen is a charity and membership organisation. Th
 ey are experts in the use of moving image in education\, delivering online
  academic databases\, on demand video resources\, training\, information a
 nd advice. Our work is developed through communication with our members an
 d through the findings of our specialist research unit\, providing the hig
 her and further education sector with trusted and scholarly audiovisual se
 rvices.\n\nCourse leaders: Sergio Angelini\, Head of Membership Services a

  there are a limited number of places.\n\nPLEASE NOTE: The day does NOT in
 clude instruction on how to create video or media\, it is concerned only w
 ith finding and using existing sources!\n\nDAY ONE (10 April 2019) 10.00am

 or academic research\;\n 	How to use audiovisual resources within academic
  research\;\n 	Online resources: The changing nature of audiovisual in res
 earch\; \n 	Providing context: the role of metadata\;\n 	Practical session
  on how to compile\, identify\, validate and use video and audio materials
  within research\;\n 	Curation: creating your own clips\, playlists and re
 liable audiovisual resource banks\;\n 	BoB: making the most of your access
  to this resource\;\n 	Evaluation: how to assess the validity and provenan
 ce of resources\;\n 	Other audiovisual resources available for use by acad
 emic researchers\;\n 	Round-Up: latest developments in research using audi
 ovisual resources.\n\nNB: The workshop focuses largely on finding and usin
 g UK audio-visual resources and may not be suitable for researchers whose
