Feminist Thought in Practice

Both the organisers attended (and indeed met) at an event in Skaholt, Iceland, called Feminist Utopias. Although an academic conference on feminist philosophy, the event foregrounded ways of practicing feminist thought and theory, not just discussing it. The event gave time and space to non traditional ways of working through feminist thought and our research. Inspired by this event we are proposing to hold a workshop and discussion event around the theme of feminist thought in practice. The aim is to share practical and creative frameworks of working and thinking which relate to but expand our research. The objective is also open out these practices outside the University. This event will aim to draw together initial ideas (and interested parties) for further projects on this theme.
